It found itself in the situation that any administration generally seeks to avoid. A disciplinary case and possibly a criminal offense, which led to the isolation of four police officers, placed the institution in the spotlight. The case, and its handling, gave rise to breaches and excesses. Police officers or individuals assimilated to police officers demanded the release of their colleagues and committed, in plain view, offenses ranging from public disorder to obstruction of public roads, including shootings in the middle of the street. These offenses are crimes that fall under the criminal court.
