The National Theater of Haiti is partnering with ENARTS to celebrate International Dance Day on April 29 and 30, with two open house days at the Kiosque Occide Jeanty, Champs de Mars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was around noon when we arrived at the Champs de Mars. Passing through the barrier of the Occide Jeanty Kiosk, wide open for the occasion, this Wednesday, April 29, we can read on a wall: “Celebration of the 44th International Dance Day.” This message is an invitation to the celebration and a way to remind visitors of the cultural value of this date while warmly welcoming them to this iconic place, which temporarily houses the National Theater of Haiti (TND’H) and the National School of Arts (ENARTS). In the kiosk’s cloakroom are housed the National Theater of Haiti and ENARTS. At the entrance of the cloakroom, an exhibition of dance costumes and souvenir photos welcomes us. We take our time to go through these garments designed to accompany gestures, highlight the lines of the body, and sometimes amplify the range of movements. We gaze at these stage outfits that transform the dancer’s body.making it visually appealing and in line with the desired aesthetic.
