The PNH maintains all of its units mobilized so that the situation can return to normal,” emphasizes the PNH.

This deployment comes after a night of terror in several neighborhoods of La Plaine. Heavy gunfire exchanges were reported in Martial, Marin, Fuji, Blancha, and Terre Noire in the context of clashes between rival gangs on the evening of Saturday, May 9. Already, on Saturday afternoon, the population had alerted authorities about the movement of armed individuals who are reportedly members of a criminal coalition of the ‘Taliban’ gang led by Jeff Gwo lwa Larose, ‘Chen mechan’ gang of Claudy Célestin, and ‘400 Mawozo’ of Wilson.Death without end, Joseph. There has been news of a new attack against the gangs of Pyè 6, Duvivier, and Terre-Noire.

Population movements are massive. Thousands of families (women, children, and the elderly) fled in the middle of the night, abandoning their belongings. Many found refuge in front of the SONAPI premises, sleeping on the ground, while others tried to reach Carrefour or the Champ de Mars. Initial protest movements, scenes of indignation and frustration were recorded in Trois-Mains early Monday morning.“Unbearable scenes. Always the same. Women. Children. Entire families forced to flee to survive. Meanwhile, civilians are falling to stray bullets. Businesses are affected by shootings. A whole area is living in terror. And this despite multiple notes, alerts, and repeated requests concerning the Cul-de-Sac Plain. During the night, one of our employees was shot dead. How long will we have to count the dead before concrete actions are taken?” wondered Delphine Nathalie Gardère, CEO of the Barbancourt Rum Company, on social media.

In this context of violence, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) announced the evacuation of its Drouillard hospital center as well as the temporary suspension of all its medical activities in thearea.

Since Saturday evening, violent clashes have occurred between armed groups in several areas of Cité Soleil. In this tense context, the MSF hospital has continued to receive gunshot victims while serving as a refuge for hundreds of residents fleeing the gunfire. In a statement published on its official pages, the organization said it had welcomed more than 800 people seeking protection within the hospital grounds. In just 12 hours, the medical teams also treated more than 40 gunshot victims. With the shootings continuing in several areas, MSF says it was forced to make a difficult decision. Their goal being to protect their patients as well as their teams, the organization stated through their mission chief in Haiti that it is impossible for them to provide care amid the shootings.

The day before, the Fontaine Hospital Center, located in Duvivier, in the Cité Soleil municipality, was once again forced to evacuate its premises during the night of Sunday, May 10, 2026. A source close to the hospital confirmed the news to the newspaper on Monday.Furthermore, Le Nouvelliste spoke with a doctor, who requested anonymity for safety reasons, who recounted a particularly difficult night. He explains that a first team of caregivers and several patients left the premises around 7 p.m. on Sunday. A second wave of evacuation followed later in the night. The doctor specifies that around 11:30 p.m. and until midnight, the teams were still trying to transfer some patients to other hospital centers while new gunshot victims continued to arrive.

The National Police of Haiti (PNH) announced on Monday, May 11, the deployment of several specialized units and nine armored vehicles in the Cul-de-Sac plain, in response to violent clashes…

[232

57
post-3286","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-insecurity
["GET
