The Haitian government wants to bring young graduates closer to the private sector through the Youth Employment Initiation Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of Economy and Finance officially launched a new phase of the Youth Employment Initiation Program (PIJE) in the private sector on Friday, May 15, 2026, through the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the West.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ceremony took place at the Ritz Kinam Hotel in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Finance, Serge Gabriel Collin, as well as several representatives from the private business sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of this initiative, 50 young graduates from universities and professional schools will be integrated into the CCIO and various partner companies to carry out paid internships lasting three months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to authorities, the allowances for the interns will be entirely covered by the Public Treasury.The MEF specifies that these beneficiaries are part of the second cohort of the program since its relaunch in March 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ministry also recalls that 208 young people had already been assigned to various public institutions between January and March 2026 as part of the same scheme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the relaunch of PIJE by Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aim\u00e9 through Circular 008, a total of 522 young people have reportedly already benefited from the program, according to figures provided by the ministry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Through this partnership with the private sector, the government states that it aims to offer more professional integration opportunities to Haitian youth facing the difficulties of the job market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
