The ball, named Trionda, was once again designed by the German manufacturer Adidas, the official supplier since the 1970 World Cup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I am delighted and proud to present the Trionda,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino during the ball presentation at an event in New York on Thursday.The first World Cup organized by three countries, with 48 teams competing, inspired both the name and the design of the ball, which features the colors red, blue, and green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The symbols of each host country – Canada’s maple leaves, Mexico’s eagle, and the United States’ stars – are also present, with a triangle representing the unity of the three countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The ball also has deep seams designed to provide “optimal flight stability” and raised icons that improve grip in wet conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A motion-sensing chip will transmit information about the ball’s movements, sending data to the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place from June 11 to July 19.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
