The announcement was made on Wednesday, June 3, by officials of the General Administration of Customs (AGD) during a new edition of the monthly program &#8216;Talk with Customs&#8217; (Ann Koze ak Ladwann).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Compared to May 2026, customs collected one billion 635 million 101 thousand 752 gourdes and 64 cents more, which represents an increase of 15.3 percent,&#8221; said Reginald S\u00e9v\u00e8re, Director of Legal Affairs of the AGD.\u201cThe recipe for this month of May also reflects a significant increase of 16.3 percent compared to the month of April 2026,\u201d he specified.&#8221;Regarding the revenue targets set by the Ministry of Economy and Finance for the month of May, the forecast was reached at 94 percent. Thus, consistently, the customs continue to modernize, strengthen control measures, and fight against fraud to optimize its revenues, protect the national territory and the population, and provide more facilitation to economic operators while ensuring fair competition,&#8221; explained Reginald S\u00e9v\u00e8re.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">Beyond the numbers, May was also marked by an increase in customs control operations across the country, according to AGD officials. Micheline D\u00e9jour, head of the AGD Control Department, detailed several seizures carried out in different offices throughout the country.At the Malpasse border post, officers intercepted sets of tactical uniforms including 24 caps bearing the logo of the Haitian National Police (PNH), 220 pairs of boots, and 280 pants. Three people were arrested in connection with this case.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">At the Port-au-Prince International Airport, customs officers seized two drones, 112 bottles of medication, 26 plastic firearm cases, as well as 105 sex-related objects. At the Gona\u00efves office, six firearms were confiscated. In Saint-Marc, one thousand 9mm caliber bullets were intercepted.
