For this grand book celebration, which honored the famous Haitian writer Ren\u00e9 Depestre, 114 authors were signing books and 1,100 titles were available. It was 6 p.m., and readers were still picking up their copies at the C3 \u00c9ditions counter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size wp-block-paragraph\">It was almost noon when we arrived at the El Rancho Convention Center in P\u00e9tion-Ville, after endless hours stuck in traffic on the Bourdon road. To reach P\u00e9tion-Ville and witness the country&#8217;s biggest book fair, the bus ride was long and tiring. But it was worth it.
