For Frantz Duval, editor-in-chief of the newspaper Le Nouvelliste, this announcement \u201cis the first victory of the Haitian football team in the 2026 World Cup.\u201d The journalist believes that this announcement is part of the positive effects of Haiti qualifying for a World Cup, a first in 52 years.The American airline, which had stopped its operations to the country more than a year ago, will resume daily nonstop service between Miami and Cap-Ha\u00eftien starting November 1, according to the Miami Herald.American Airlines will operate a 172-seat Boeing 737, with 156 in economy class and 16 in business class. American Airlines’ return to Cap-Ha\u00eftien\u2014after flying to Haiti for 50 years before the suspension in December 2024\u2014comes as U.S. commercial flights to the country’s main airport, Port-au-Prince\u2019s Toussaint Louverture International Airport, remain suspended due to worsening gang violence in the capital since November 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before this suspension, Fort Lauderdale-based Spirit Airlines was the only major commercial airline serving Cap-Ha\u00eftien.In a statement, American Airlines said that Haiti currently represents the largest Caribbean market in terms of passenger demand that isn\u2019t served by a U.S. airline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
