The Haitian airline Sunrise Airways is taking a new step in its regional development. Starting June 26, 2026, it will launch two new routes from Cap-Ha\u00eftien, connecting Haiti\u2019s second city to Punta Cana and Santiago in the Dominican Republic. The airline announced this in a press release on Thursday, June 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“These new routes aim to strengthen connectivity between Haiti and the rest of the Caribbean, while offering business and leisure travelers more convenient travel options. Additionally, the Cap-Ha\u00eftien\u2013Punta Cana route represents a strategic opportunity for transit to other international destinations,” the company said in the release.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dominican Republic\u2019s ‘Junta de Aviaci\u00f3n Civil’ (JAC) has passed a resolution to reopen Dominican airspace to flights coming from Cap-Ha\u00eftien. The document was published on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the text, the JAC has decided to resume passenger and cargo flights between the Dominican Republic and Haiti via Cap-Haitien International Airport and the Dominican airports starting May 30, 2026.
