A new group of 665 military recruits began their training on July 5 at the Verti\u00e8res base and will form ‘the army’s first shock unit\u2026,’ according to Mario Andresol, Minister of Defense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This new FAd\u2019H group will be in training ‘for 4 months with the possibility of extending up to 6 months because we intend to make them the army’s first shock unit with all the proper equipment,’ the Minister of Defense said in an interview with Le Nouvelliste on Thursday.Mario Andresol told the newspaper that during the training, these military recruits will be stationed in the same place and will be training all the time “and will be able to take part in simulation exercises with the GSF intervention troops to bring them up to speed for future joint operations if needed.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“All 665 recruits will be soldiers. But the Army staff is working on the possibility of training or promoting members of the FAD\u2019H to higher ranks,” the Defense Minister added, noting that the soldiers’ training takes place at the Verti\u00e8res base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Repairs are underway at the Anacaona training center in Gressier, Mario Andresol added, announcing that in a month or two, another group of 600 to 700 new military recruits could start training at this center.\u201cAt the same time, acquiring tents could allow us to house or train 600 other new soldiers. That will depend on the option we choose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of cooperation with Mexico, 114 recruits in training will go to Mexico next month for training sessions. Another 200 will go there at the end of September,\u201d explained the Defense Minister.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Andresol said that, on its side, Argentina \u201coffered us the opportunity to train six military personnel: two at the Army Academy, two in the Air Force, and two in the Navy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cWith the finalization of the new doctrine and the update of general regulations, the uniform, the code of discipline and ethics, and military justice, we truly hope to set up a new army,\u201d Andresol said, announcing that a partnership agreement with the State University of Haiti (UEH) will be signed next month.\u201dIn a statement released on July 5 regarding the start of training for the new batch of FAd\u2019H, the Ministry of Defense explained that after going through the various selection steps, 665 recruits, including 98 women, were chosen after meeting all the medical, physical, psychotechnical, and administrative requirements needed for admission. \u201cThey will now begin their military training, a key step in preparing them to serve the Nation.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201c\u2026A new phase of the recruitment process will kick off once this batch has completed integration. To this end, 2,000 new candidates will soon be called to take part in the different selection tests according to the procedures in place,\u201d the ministry announced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Ministry of Defense says that ‘out of a concern for transparency, inclusion, and fairness, this new phase will involve candidates registered at the main recruitment centers spread across the country\u2019s major cities. This approach aims to ensure balanced representation from different regions and to give all applicants who meet the admission criteria an equal chance to join the ranks of the Haitian Armed Forces.’<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In a statement, the Secretariat of the Haitian Armed Forces General Staff says that the HAF is taking a key step in strengthening its ranks with the start of training for ‘the 665 recruits selected after a rigorous selection process who are officially joining the training center to begin their military instruction.'”This new promotion embodies the constant desire to strengthen the operational capabilities of our institution to better meet contemporary security challenges,” according to the FAd\u2019H.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
