The Director General of the National Old Age Insurance Office (ONA), Lovely Fran\u00e7ois, presented, on Thursday, July 9, 2026, the report of the first hundred days of her term at the head of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her speech at the official launch of the 2026 editions of the ONA-Education and ONA-Police programs at the Royal Oasis Hotel on July 9, 2026, the Director General reminded everyone that the first hundred days were dedicated to a thorough assessment of ONA’s institutional reality, which helped identify the organization’s strengths, weaknesses, and strategic priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“From the moment we took over the leadership of the National Old-Age Insurance Office, we chose governance based on rigor, transparency, efficiency, and a sense of public service. Convinced that no lasting reform can be undertaken without a precise understanding of the institutional reality, we devoted these first hundred days to a clear-eyed review of the NOA, to identify its strengths, weaknesses, and strategic priorities,” said Lovely Fran\u00e7ois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the director general, restoring rigorous governance was one of her top priorities, along with strengthening internal control mechanisms and administrative and financial procedures.\u201cOn the financial side, several results have been announced. The Legal Affairs Department has enabled the recovery of more than 439 million gourdes in receivables. Additionally, over 7 billion gourdes have been invested in Bonds, already generating more than 250 million gourdes in revenue for the institution,\u201d revealed Lovely Fran\u00e7ois.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ms. Fran\u00e7ois also brought up the issue of ONA\u2019s social debt, estimated at around 38.4 billion gourdes for the 2015-2025 period, announcing that a detailed analysis of this matter will be featured in the next issue of the Office\u2019s institutional magazine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report also highlights the revival of institutional dialogue, especially through the ONA meetings, a space for exchange between management and employees, as well as the strengthening of relationships with trade unions and partners in the social protection sector.\u201cSeveral modernization projects were mentioned among the concrete actions carried out during this period: the modernization of the identification system for employees, insured persons, and retirees, the introduction of institutional badges and secure cards, as well as the gradual implementation of a new information system.
