This performance rewards the steady progress of the Haitian athlete and allows the national delegation to open its medal count.The only Haitian representative competing in roller figure skating, Valentina Francesca Lalanne, was up against six other competitors: Colombian Mar\u00eda Paulina P\u00e9rez, Mexican Brenda Salazar, Cuban Nancy Fernandez, Venezuelan Nicole Andreina Arciniegas, Panamanian Adell Pinzon Galit, and Dominican Letizia Marie Garcia, who was only 14 years old. Right from the qualifiers on July 25, the hierarchy already seemed to be taking shape. The Program Components Score (PCS), on the other hand, rewards the artistic quality of the performance: choreography, musicality, fluidity, expression, skating control, and overall presentation.
