The Electoral Council ended the political party merger process on Friday. 17 coalitions and 88 political parties are approved for the upcoming elections. Out of the 316 parties previously validated by the electoral body, this merger process has brought the number down to 105 political organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The 17 coalitions of political parties approved by the CEP since last week didn\u2019t see the need to merge. As a result, the Provisional Electoral Council (CEP) officially ended the period for registering political mergers on Friday, August 14, 2026, without recording any additional party mergers.It should be noted that according to the electoral decree, a coalition of parties is made up of at least 10 political parties, and a group is made up of at least two coalitions of political parties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To definitively close this chapter in the electoral process, the CEP published the complete and final list of the 105 political structures, including 17 coalitions and 88 political parties authorized to participate in the upcoming elections, in accordance with Article 129 of the Electoral Decree of June 2, 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
‘\u2026the formal recording by a Justice of the Peace in the P\u00e9tion-ville commune of the closure of the political group registration process, on Friday, August 14, 2026, at 6:00 PM, allowed the CEP to note that no political group had been registered with the electoral institution,’ the CEP stated in a press release.The Provisional Electoral Council has published the list of one hundred and five (105) approved political organizations on its website www.cephaiti.ht, on its official Facebook page, and on the CEP\u2019s official X account.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the electoral calendar, the CEP will launch the candidate registration process on Thursday, August 20. At the same time, the Electoral Council is continuing voter registration across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The first round of the presidential, legislative elections, and the constitutional referendum is set for December 13.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
