In order to discover talent and keep athletes on the competition pace, GTTF Haïti organized an interschool taekwondo competition in the North and West on August 2 and 16, 2026.
Sports, seen as a driver of development around the world, can’t be at a standstill. GTTF (Global Traditional Taekwondo Federation) Haiti, led by Hector Jacques, follows this path. The organization of the interschool taekwondo competition is proof of that.
At the Gymnasium of Champ de Mars in Cap-Haïtien and at Collège Victor Baroulette (Fontamara), GTTF Haiti organized the competition in two parts: the first branch in the North and the second in the West. A competition set up to fight youth delinquency and show the many opportunities that sports can offer.Medalists in the Northern Combat Section
In the combat section, Christiano Antenor won the gold medal and Djeffery Syffrard got a silver medal in the 5-6 years category. Alciné Andersley, Alciné Andersly, and Alexis Roodly won the gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively in the 7-9 years category.
For the 32-kilogram category (7-9 years), Jackito Saint-Hilaire, Kendji Floriscial, and Israël Marc made up the podium (1st to 3rd place). In the part concerning boys aged 10 to 11 (41 kg), Krisdany Gracius took home the gold medal. The silver and bronze medals went to Ricard Dossou and Marvens Casimir, respectively.
In the cadet category (12 to 14 years) of 39 kg, Jodnel François won first prize. Anderly Saint-Martin and Clarens Casimir completed the podium. In the 45 kg cadet category, Djonley Samson finished ahead of Alanson Augustin (2nd) and Lorvensky Syntyl (3rd).In the senior 54-kilogram category, Robert Hantz Jeudy won first prize. Kensley Joseph took second place, and Roosevelt Alizé came in third. Hantz gave it his all to stay ahead of his competitors.
For the female side, there were 4 categories. In the 7-9 age category, Emmaline Monthas took home the top prize ahead of Liora Joseph (2nd) and Kichmy Casimir (3rd). In the 10-11 age group, Fredna Nestant won the gold medal against Fedenaëlle Syffrard.
The happy champion of the 12-14 age category (45 kg) was Jodneldine Lucien. The runner-up was Marie Deycy Dieudonné. Edwige Joseph, on the other hand, is the champion in the senior category (62 kg). Focusing on children, who are the ones that will lead tomorrow, GTTF Haiti emphasized the 5-6 and 7-9 age categories. In the first category, Djefery Syffrard outperformed Néande Joseph, while Anderley Alciné finished ahead of Kendjy Floricial and Chadu Marc Israël in the second.
The champion in the 10-11 age category is Jackito Hilaire. In contrast, the winner in the cadet category is Anderly Saint-Martin. The 15-17-year-olds competed fiercely, but in the end, Andy Valcimond took first place over Stanley Casseus. Yosdaley Alciné settled for third place.
For the girls, the champions are Emmaline Monthas (7-9 years), Fedenaëlle Syffrard (10-11 years), and Edwige Joseph (senior category).
The Western Champions
On Sunday, August 16, at Victor Baroulette College in Fontamara, the second part of the competition took place. Ernst Cadet confirmed his talent by taking first place in the smallest category.
Emmanuel Camille outclassed Barthélémy Laurent (2nd) and Fabien Sanon (3rd) in the 10-11 age category. As for the 45kg category, Markens Gauss took home the first prize in the cadet category.
Daniel Joseph dominated all his opponents in the 15 to 17-year-old (55 kg) category, just like Djoulissa Exil did as a girl in the cadet (fight) category. For this section, Annaëlle Bernard and Anshell Bethsaïda Louis earned second and third places.
