FC Barcelona and Paris SG have reached an agreement for the transfer of the Spaniard Ferran Torres, the only scorer in the 2026 World Cup final, for nearly 50 million euros, Spanish media as well as Le Parisien and the newspaper L’Équipe reported on Thursday.

According to the same sources, the 26-year-old forward, who joined Barça in 2021 from Manchester City for 55 million euros, is set to sign a five-year contract in the French capital.

The reigning Spanish champions had rejected an initial Parisian offer of 40 million euros on Monday, a source within the Catalan club told AFP.

Trained as a winger but more often used as a striker replacing Robert Lewandowski at Barça, the “tiburon” – shark in Spanish – scored 40 goals in 94 matches across all competitions over the last two seasons with the Blaugranas.

Last month, he became Spain’s hero by scoring the winning goal against Argentina in the World Cup final.

At PSG, he will reunite with Spanish coach Luis Enrique, who gave him his start.in the Spanish national team in 2020 at only twenty years old.

For Barça, this departure increases the urgency to sign a striker, after the arrivals on the wings of the Englishman Anthony Gordon and the German Karim Adeyemi.
