The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship, Raina Forbin, received on Monday, August 10, 2026, the new Resident Representative of the Secretary-General of the Organization of American States (OAS) in Haiti, Catherine Pognat. On the occasion, she presented her credentials to the Chancellor. The two diplomats discussed strengthening cooperation between Haiti and the OAS, especially regarding the establishment of internships within the OAS mission in Haiti for young Haitian university students. They also talked about Ms. Forbin’s meeting with religious leaders concerning peace, social cohesion, youth, and the electoral process. The visit to Haiti, from August 16 to 19, by a delegation led by the OAS Secretary-General, Albert Ramdin, was also mentioned.
