Idle for almost a year, the Gaillard hydroelectric plant in Cayes-Jacmel is back up and running, announced the Ministry of Public Works, Transport, and Communications (MPTC).

Out of service for almost a year, the hydroelectric plant in Gaillard, Cayes-Jacmel, is up and running again, announced the Ministry of Public Works, Transport, and Communications (MPTC). This restart follows a visit from the Minister of Public Works, Joseph Almathe Pierre Louis, who had ordered urgent technical interventions. The rehabilitation work restored the facility’s full production capacity, according to an MPTC statement. The plant now powers local grids, providing relief to the residents and boosting economic activities in Cayes-Jacmel, the statement highlights.
