“I swear before God and promise the people to faithfully uphold the Constitution and laws of Colombia,” said the 48-year-old political newcomer during a ceremony in Cali (southwest), AFP journalists reported.
Elected in June and representing the hard right, he is supported by U.S. President Donald Trump.
