Work, agriculture and health at the heart of government activities on May 1, 2026
On the occasion of the National Day of Agriculture and Labor, Friday, May 1, 2016, the government organized several activities to mark the date. From the National Palace to the agricultural and artisanal resistance fair, including a ceremony for the presentation of letters of appointment in the health sector, Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé expressed his vision for national recovery, based on security, production, and the dignity of work. For the first time since 2020, the diplomatic corps accredited in Haiti set foot on the lawn of the National Palace, at Champ de Mars. A symbolic return that could signify a new phase in the reclaiming of the capital by the national security forces. Celebrated around the theme ‘National production is the foundation of the fight for security,’ the day brought together members of the government, representatives of the judicial system,of the diplomatic corps, of the Apostolic Nuncio, of international and peasant organizations, of chambers of commerce and industry, as well as of trade unions.
