The General Secretariat of the Presidency announced this Monday, August 10, 2026, that there will be two national public holidays on Friday, August 14, and Saturday, August 15. As such, government offices, commercial and industrial businesses, as well as schools, will be closed on these two days. August 14 will be marked by the commemoration of Bois-Caïman and the Union for Freedom, while August 15 will be devoted to the Feast of the Assumption.
