American rapper Kodak Black has been taken into custody in Orange County, Florida, in connection with a case related to illegal substances, according to several American media outlets.
According to information reported by TMZ, the investigation dates back to a search carried out in November 2025 in a vehicle where authorities reportedly discovered MDMA pills as well as a bottle of codeine syrup.
Investigators claim to have identified traces associated with the artist on the seized items, notably fingerprints found on a bottle.
Kodak Black’s lawyer, however, disputes the accusations and considers that the case is based on insufficient evidence.
According to the defense, the rapper was not in the vehicle at the time of the search. His lawyer also claims that the authorities are mainly relying on his client’s criminal record. This new arrest comes after several legal troubles that have marked the artist’s path in recent years.
In 2019, Kodak Black had been convicted in a case related to the possession of weapons before receiving a sentence commutation granted by Donald Trump at the end of his first term.
