The Haitian star of OL Lyon confirms her outstanding season by winning another major award in French women’s football.

The Haitian international Melchie Dumornay continues to make history in European women’s football. The OL Lyon player was elected best player of the 2025-2026 season at the LFFP Awards.

This new distinction confirms the exceptional impact of the Grenadier in the Arkema First League this season.

Melchie Dumornay was among the three finalists alongside Sakina Karchaoui and Romée Leuchter.

Thanks to her remarkable performances in Lyon’s colors, the Haitian player ultimately won the trophy awarded by the Professional Women’s Football League. This award comes just a few days after her triumph at the UNFP Trophies, where she had already been named the best player in the French women’s championship.

Two different ceremonies, but the same conclusion: Melchie Dumornay currently dominates French women’s football.

The UNFP Trophies, organized by the professional players’ union, reward each year the best actors in men’s and women’s football in France.

The LFFP Trophies, for their part, are exclusively dedicated to professional women’s football, which reinforces the symbolic significance of this new distinction for the Haitian star.

At only 22 years old, Melchie Dumornay is now establishing herself as one of the major figures in world women’s football.

Her journey continues to make Haiti proud and inspires an entire generation of young Haitian female footballers.
