Sabri Lamouchi, who took over Tunisia’s bench last January, has been fired by the Tunisian Football Federation in the middle of the World Cup after the Eagles of Carthage’s heavy 5-1 loss to Sweden on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in Monterrey, Mexico.

The Tunisian Federation is already preparing a transition by considering the appointment of Mondher Kebaier as interim coach for the rest of the World Cup.

Sabri Lamouchi is leaving his position after a short stint leading the Carthage Lions, marked by a record of five matches (one win, one draw, and three losses), his only victory being a 1-0 friendly win against Haiti last March.
