American President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he wants to impose a 20% tax on goods transported by ship through the Strait of Hormuz.

American President Donald Trump announced on Monday that he wants to impose a 20% tax on goods transported by ship through the Strait of Hormuz.

“The United States will henceforth be known as the ‘GUARDIANS OF THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ,’ but for the sake of FAIRNESS, they will collect a fee corresponding to 20% of the value of the cargo,” he wrote on his Truth Social network. This tax is meant to “cover all the costs necessary to carry out the mission of ensuring the safety and security of this particularly unstable region of the world.” “The implementation of this measure will begin immediately,” he added.
