A UN delegation is meeting the Defense Minister about the sanctions regime

On July 23, the Defense Minister, Mario Andrésol, met with a delegation from the UN Department of Political Affairs and Peacebuilding as part of a mission to assess Haiti’s implementation of the UN Security Council sanctions regime.

Defense Minister Mario Andrésol met with a delegation from the UN Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs on July 23 as part of a mission to assess Haiti’s implementation of the Security Council’s sanctions regime. The talks focused on progress in strengthening the rule of law, fighting armed groups, and reducing arms trafficking, in line with Resolution 2794 (2025).
