Keiko Fujimori was sworn in as president of Peru on Tuesday after an oath-taking ceremony in front of Parliament, AFP reported.

Keiko Fujimori was sworn in as president of Peru on Tuesday after a swearing-in ceremony before Parliament, AFP reported.

“I swear (…) to faithfully exercise the functions of President of the Republic that the nation has entrusted to me for the 2026-2031 period,” said the daughter of former president Alberto Fujimori (1990-2000), who had promised during the election campaign to take a tough stance on crime.
