The Ministry of National Education and Professional Training (MENFP) has set the start of the 2026-2027 school year for September 7, 2026. The announcement was made by Minister Vijonet Déméro on Friday, July 31, during a meeting with stakeholders in the education system at the Karibe Hotel.
On this occasion, the MENFP head called for everyone to come together to protect schools, which he described as a ‘sanctuary of the Republic.’
‘Nothing should stand in the way of its operation. Everything must be done to protect it,’ the minister emphasized.In his speech, Mr. Déméro urged technical and financial partners, as well as government members, to maintain and strengthen the synergy of resources. He also invited MENFP officials to ensure a strong presence in the field, to demonstrate exemplary management, and to maintain constant commitment to the quality of the education system.
The minister also called on unions to put the interests of children above all else.
“Let’s join our efforts. Let’s put aside our divisions and put the future of Haiti’s children above everything else,” concluded Vijonet Déméro, while reaffirming the State’s solidarity with parents as the school year approaches.
