Jean Robert Casimir, a former agent of the Haitian National Police (PNH) and a naturalized American citizen, pleaded guilty on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, in the United States to conspiracy, smuggling, and violations of arms export rules. According to the Miami Herald, the U.S. Department of Justice accuses him of being part of a network that allegedly allowed the illegal export of at least 140 firearms to Haiti since 2020. He is 53 years old and was arrested in December 2024 following a U.S. authorities’ investigation that linked him to two semi-automatic AR-15 type assault rifles.
