The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour (MAST), through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), began, on Sunday, April 26, 2026, the distribution of 10,000 food kits to vulnerable populations in the Far North.

The Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor (MAST), through the Economic and Social Assistance Fund (FAES), began distributing 10,000 food kits to vulnerable populations in the Far North on Sunday, April 26, 2026. In Sainte-Philomène, 500 families have already benefited from this government support in a context of hardship. Minister Marc-Elie Nelson, accompanied by representatives of the FAES and the Social Assistance Fund, oversaw the operation. Approximately twenty areas in the North and Northeast departments will be covered. The initiative will continue in the Far South through the PSARA – Klere Chimen program, supported by the World Bank.
