Scheduled for May 1, 2026, the resumption of air operations between Haiti and the Dominican Republic is postponed.

Scheduled for May 1, 2026, the resumption of air operations between Haiti and the Dominican Republic has been postponed. Dominican authorities cite the need to finalize a security protocol before any reopening.

The Civil Aviation Board (JAC) of the Dominican Republic announced, in a statement dated May 1, 2026, the postponement of the resumption of air operations between the two countries, initially planned for that date.

According to this document, this decision comes as the authorities are still working on the development of a security framework prior to the resumption of flights. “The Civil Aviation Board, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other institutions (…) is working on the development of a security protocol,” the statement reads.
