Around the theme ‘Let’s Invest Together for Sustainable Development,’ the Haitian-Canadian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIHC) and CONATEL opened, on May 15, 2026, the doors of a fair on Corporate Social Responsibility at the Hotel Montana. The ambition: to demonstrate that in Haiti, innovating without conscience is no longer an option. This event brought together about thirty companies, panels, and exhibitions.Because companies exist in Haiti. But how many truly assume their role beyond generating profit? According to the ISO 26000 standard, CSR is a voluntary commitment to integrate economic, social, and environmental concerns into an organization’s activities; towards employees, customers, but also communities and the environment.
Ms. Laroche, a speaker on the topic, stated this bluntly: “Ten years ago, we said that CSR improved the competitiveness and image of companies. Today, in the Haitian context, it has become a collective necessity. If everyone does not get involved, we will all suffer the consequences of this crisis.” Yet, technology, the natural lever of this responsibility, must still be able to truly deploy across the territory.
