The rector of the State University of Haiti (UEH), Dieuseul Prédélus, is issuing a call on the necessity of placing knowledge and innovation at the heart of the national development strategy.

The rector of the State University of Haiti (UEH), Dieuseul Prédélus, calls for the need to place knowledge and innovation at the heart of the national development strategy. Mr. Prédélus made this call during the official ceremony commemorating the 223rd anniversary of the Haitian bicolor and University Day, on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the National Palace.

In front of the Prime Minister, Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, government members, the diplomatic corps, and university rectors, Dieuseul Prédélus advocated for the necessity of placing knowledge and innovation at the heart of the national development strategy.Acknowledging the transformations of the world economy, the rector of the UEH maintained that “the nations that prosper in the twenty-first century are no longer necessarily those that possess the most natural resources”, but those that have been able to develop their human capital. In this sense, he invited the Haitian State to “place knowledge and innovation at the heart of the national development strategy”, describing this orientation as both a “constitutional prescription, an economic requirement and a strategic constraint”.
