The Prime Minister’s office announced the holding of a weekly meeting between all security actors to evaluate actions aimed at intensifying measures against gangs, according to a statement on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. “The Prime Minister, His Excellency Mr. Alix Didier Fils-Aimé, convened this Wednesday at the Prime Minister’s office the highest officials of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Haiti (FAd’H), the Minister of Defense, as well as the leaders of the Gang Suppression Force (FRG), in the presence of all operational commands engaged on the ground, in order to assess the national security situation and adopt new offensive measures intended to intensify the recapture of territories occupied by armed groups,” the statement reads.“This strategic meeting, now established every Wednesday, sets up a permanent mechanism for evaluation, coordination, and preparation of joint interventions of the security forces,” reports the Prime Minister’s office, emphasizing that “the Government decrees national security continuity across the entire territory.”
“The operations conducted by the National Police of Haiti, supported by the Armed Forces of Haiti and the Gang Suppression Force, will be immediately reinforced, intensified, and continuously pursued until the full restoration of State authority in all affected areas,” states the communiqué.
