The Haitian government announced on Monday, May 4, 2026, the increase of the minimum wage for subcontracting workers to 1,000 gourdes per day.

The Haitian government announced, on Monday, May 4, 2026, the increase of the minimum wage for subcontracting workers to 1,000 gourdes per day. Additional measures including a reduction in the price of electricity at the Caracol Industrial Park starting January 2027 and direct aid of 625 million gourdes to support workers’ purchasing power are also planned.
