The Ministry for the Status of Women and Women’s Rights (MCFDF) officially launched four women’s houses in the departments of West, Grand’Anse, Artibonite and Centre on Friday, May 22, 2026.

The Ministry for the Status of Women and Women’s Rights (MCFDF) officially launched four women’s centers in the West, Grand’Anse, Artibonite, and Central departments on Friday, May 22, 2026. The ceremony took place in Vivy Mitchell, in the municipality of Pétion-Ville, in the presence of Prime Minister Alix Didier Fils-Aimé and Minister for the Status of Women Pedrica Saint Jean. According to the MCFDF, this initiative aims to strengthen protection and support mechanisms for women and girls who are survivors of violence, in a context marked by insecurity and the humanitarian crisis the country is experiencing.
