The National Police of Haiti (PNH) reports having carried out a large security operation in Artibonite, notably in the Carrefour Marchand area and its surroundings, between May 22 and 23. Several specialized units, supported by armored vehicles and surveillance drones, patrolled these areas in order to regain control and limit the movements of armed groups, according to a PNH statement. Two major barricades have already been removed in Lacroix-Périsse, while other obstacles made of tree trunks remain to be cleared. Law enforcement forces also secured the Rigaud area up to the ‘Point Rouge,’ the statement continues.
