Meeting between Haiti and the UN on support for the electoral process

On the sidelines of the 56th General Assembly of the OAS in Panama, Haitian Foreign Minister Raina Forbin met with Rosemary DiCarlo, UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs. Government priorities in terms of security, institutional strengthening, and a return to constitutional order were among the topics discussed. Ms. DiCarlo also reaffirmed the UN’s willingness to provide expertise and technical assistance to support the organization of elections in Haiti.
