The Ministry of Haitians Living Abroad (MHAVE) celebrated, on Monday, April 20, 2026, the 15th edition of the National Diaspora Day, in tribute to the Haitian community established abroad. Held under the theme ‘Haiti: Security, Elections, the Diaspora Participates to Support Stability,’ the ceremony took place in the presence of several state authorities and representatives of the diplomatic corps, including the political advisor of the United States Embassy in Haiti, Lorelei Snyder. According to the head of MHAVE, Kathia Verdier, Haitians living abroad remain, wherever they are, an integral part of the life and future of the country, through their sacrifices, commitment, and attachment to Haiti.
