Donald and Melania Trump are “safe,” the U.S. Secret Service announced Saturday after evacuating the president and first lady from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner where shots were heard.
“The president and first lady are safe, as are all those under protection,” the Secret Service, responsible for protecting high-ranking U.S. political figures, said in a statement, adding that one individual had been arrested.
