The Ministry of the Environment (MdE) strongly condemns the acts of vandalism perpetrated at the Cayes Botanical Garden, a site dedicated for over twenty years to biodiversity conservation in Haiti. Expressing its deep concern, the Ministry denounces these actions, which damage an environmental heritage of great value to the nation. In response, measures have been taken jointly with the Ministry of Justice and relevant agencies, including the National Agency for the Protection of the Environment (ANAP) and the Southern Departmental Directorate, to secure the site and temporarily suspend activities pending legal proceedings, the MdE reports.
