The Association of Industries of Haiti (ADIH) denounces the worsening of gang violence in the metropolitan area of Port-au-Prince as well as in Artibonite and the Central region. This insecurity paralyzes vital sectors, blocks roadways, interrupts rice production, and disrupts access to energy. Companies are reducing or suspending their activities, threatening thousands of jobs and weakening the social fabric, indicates a note from the association. The latter considers that no economic recovery or organization of credible elections is possible without an immediate restoration of security, and calls on the authorities as well as international partners to act without delay.
