Éline Médastin, legendary voice of the communication department of the National Police of Haiti, passed away on the morning of Monday, May 4, 2026, at Saint-Nicolas Hospital (HSN) in Saint-Marc.

Hospitalized for about twenty days, Éline Médastin suffered a stroke (CVA), which required special medical care, the editorial team of Le Nouvelliste learned from the medical management of the institution. A police source revealed that the presenter of the Alo Lapolis segment “was suffering from diabetic complications.”

The doctors at Saint-Nicolas recommended the urgent transfer of Mrs. Médastin to another hospital, where a neurosurgeon could operate on her condition. However, the authorities concerned, responsible for the official procedures, stated that “unfortunately, time got the better of the police institution.”
