Carlens Arcus, Haitian right-back, extends his contract by one season and is now tied with Angers SCO until 2027. Good news for both parties.

Haitian international defender Carlens Arcus will continue his adventure with Angers Sco until 2027. The club officially announced on Wednesday, May 13, the one-season extension of Arcus’ contract, following the club’s maintenance in Ligue 1 obtained during the draw against Strasbourg (1-1) on May 10.

“In addition to his importance on the field, Carlens stands out for his significant role within the locker room, where his personality and experience greatly benefit each of his teammates,” wrote the Angers club on the morning of May 13, 2026.

Carlens Arcus joined Angers SCO’s squad in the summer of 2024 from Vitesse Arnhem, following the French club’s promotion to Ligue 1. He quickly established himself as a starter on the right side of defense, playing in each of the first nineteen league matchdays.Although a calf injury kept him from playing the next four matches, he made a quick comeback by appearing in 30 games across all competitions in his first season. Arcus was in the starting lineup 25 times (28 matches) in the league where he won 112 duels, completed 690 passes, completed 8 dribbles, created 17 goal-scoring opportunities, recovered 81 balls, made 27 interceptions, and executed 52 tackles. For his second season in the French first division (2025/26 season), Carlens Arcus has already played 25 matches with 24 starts. During his 2019 minutes played, he provided 3 assists. The Haitian right-back completed 967 passes (87.6% success rate), including 42 long balls. In addition to creating 16 chances, he successfully delivered 11 crosses. Among his 79 duels won, he came out on top 25 times in the air.

Defensively, Arcus has recovered 91 balls this season. He has made 65 clearances, 31 interceptions, and 36 tackles. He lost only six balls in 25 matches. Can we say he secures the ball well? Despite receiving 10 yellow cards, Carlens has never been sent off in Ligue 1 (including both seasons). In addition to his importance on the field, Carlens Arcus stands out for his significant role within the locker room, where his personality and experience greatly benefit each of his teammates. For his second year, he continued on a similar basis to his previous year, participating in twenty-seven matches across all competitions before a groin injury kept him out of several matches at the end of the season.

Having enjoyed great moments this season, Carlens Arcus lived a dream with his national team, Haiti, by qualifying, for the second time in the history of the Grenadiers, for the 2026 World Cup, during which Carlens and his teammates will face Brazil, Morocco, and Scotland in the group stage.Angers SCO, a club that will still be part of the elite next season, is delighted with the extension of the Haitian international who will continue to bring his talent, coupled with his zest for life, to the Blacks and Whites next season.
