Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said on Saturday that Donald Trump’s “constant and unjustified attacks” were “insane,” after the U.S. president repeated that she had “asked him, again and again” to take a photo with him at the G7.
“As for my popularity, being your friend certainly hasn’t helped it, and it also doesn’t depend on my relationship with you,” the head of government added on Instagram, in response to a message from Donald Trump in which he claimed she was “doing poorly in Italy in terms of popularity.”
