The head of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), Dr. Bertrand Sinal, represented Haiti in New York at the United Nations Meeting on HIV/AIDS (June 22–23, 2026).

The head of the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP), Dr. Bertrand Sinal, represented Haiti in New York at the United Nations Meeting on HIV/AIDS (June 22–23, 2026). He co-chaired the roundtable on community leadership alongside the representative from the Netherlands and took part in a side event focused on fighting HIV-related stigma and discrimination, the ministry reported. The Haitian delegation, including representatives from civil society, highlighted the importance of community leadership and political commitment for an inclusive and sustainable response, he added.
