The European Union (EU) announced in a statement the release of 500,000 euros in aid to help support efforts to prevent and manage diphtheria cases in Haiti.

The European Union (EU) announced in a statement that it is releasing 500,000 euros to help support efforts to prevent and manage diphtheria cases in Haiti. According to the EU, the funds will be channeled through the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) to support epidemiological monitoring, improve lab testing capacities, expand vaccine coverage, and optimize the management of identified cases. The interventions will mainly target the West, Southeast, Northeast, and Northwest departments, it adds.
