The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the State University of Haiti (FMP/UEH) strongly condemned ‘the act of violence’ carried out on July 1, 2026, against students peacefully protesting for the relocation and reopening of the University Hospital.

The Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy at the State University of Haiti (FMP/UEH) strongly condemned the “act of violence” that took place on July 1, 2026, against students peacefully protesting for the relocation and reopening of the University Hospital. An armed individual, in a vehicle with license plate AA 13359, opened fire, seriously injuring a student. In a statement, the faculty dean’s office called for an immediate judicial and police investigation into the incident, while urging the authorities to take urgent measures to resolve the HUEH crisis.
