About twenty U.S. states, including California, New York, and Hawaii, announced on Monday that they had filed a lawsuit with the U.S. Court of International Trade (CIT) to challenge the new round of tariffs implemented by Donald Trump.

These new surcharges, at 10% or 12.5% depending on the country, came into effect on July 24, with the U.S. government justifying them, after an investigation, by the failure of around sixty countries and the European Union (EU) to eliminate products made with forced labor from their supply chains.
