The American army announced on Tuesday that it had put a tanker out of service by firing at its engine room to prevent it from reaching the Iranian island of Kharg in violation of the blockade imposed by Washington against Iranian ports.

The crew of the Lexie, a vessel flying the flag of Botswana and sailing empty, ‘ignored’ the ‘multiple’ warnings from U.S. forces before they fired a missile to stop it from advancing, according to a statement on X by the U.S. Central Command for the Middle East (Centcom).
