Germany has announced the availability of Luftwaffe air transport capabilities to support the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (BANUH/UNSOH) and to help with the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force (FRG).

Germany has announced that it will make Bundeswehr air transport capacities available to support the United Nations Support Office in Haiti (BANUH/UNSOH) and facilitate the deployment of the Gang Suppression Force (FRG). According to a German government statement, this logistical support, intended for transporting materials and equipment, aims to boost the operational efficiency of the FRG and support the troop-contributing countries. A first transport operation is planned in the coming weeks, the announcement says.
